Thanks so much for making this thread. I too fixed my credit bought a home and got a Cont Finance CC

to re-build my credit.

First of all, I paid off the card once, I make 20 bucks a month payments to them with nothing charged

on the card and my CL is still 375 dollars.  got the GOLD VIP letter in the mail and was going to sign the paper and send it in but something told me to check

I googled cont fin VIP and found this forum!

Thank-you I will NOT be sending in the card.

Should I apply for a new credit card?

I have been working for the past few years to rebuild from CH13 BK.  I filed 11/15/13 and was Ddischarged 5/2017.  My scores at that time were 596 (EX), 493 (TU), 554 (EQ). I did the following:

1.  I needed a car and was offered a high-interest rate car loan via Capital One (06/2017)

2.  Applied for Credit One (9/2017) and approved for $800 – current CL is now $1100 with $181 bal

3.  Applied for Discover It card (10/2017) and approved for $1200 CL – current CL is now $3400 with $900 bal

Applied for NBT bank loan (school tuition) and approved (7/2018)  $14,431 bal remaining

5.  Applied for Barclay card and approved for $1200 CL  – $500bal

6.  Applied for a cheaper Honda car loan in 9/2018 and closed Capital One loan

I discovered that my mortgage was not reaffirmed so it just shows as closed via the CH13.  My current scores are now 680 (EX), 634 (TU), 690 (EQ).  I keep receiving these offers for new credit cards and I am wondering if I should apply for one to help my credit usage (currently ~29%).  The only issue is I know it will affect my overall credit age (currently 3y10mo).  I’ve been making extra payments on my credit cards (two are on automatic payments).
